In the rubber bonding process, there are two important steps before bonding. The one is template manufacture; the other one is joint design, which also determines the service life of rubber liner.
Template Manufacture
Template manufacture is an important link in the rubber industry. Some template manufacture is simple, such as cylinder, vertebral, plane lines or regular cuboid, but some rubber liners manufacture such as variable diameter joint, elbow, the cyclone body is relatively complicated. There are some indispensable measuring tools such as ruler, protractor, compass (Image 4-2, Image 4-3) in the process of making template. The main steps of making template: First prepare the sample (common sample should be preserved for reuse); then cut the rubber plate accurately considering appropriate allowance. The width of groove is as 3 ~ 3.5 times as sheet thickness (15~20°).
The templates vary from product to product. Staff finishes rubber lining of the entire product according to the shape, use and fluid flow of the product.
Make sure using external diameter or internal diameter to calculate the circumference:
External diameter: C=(external diameter- thickness )*π
Internal diameter: C=(internal diameter +thickness)*π
Joint design process
For equipment lining, joint design is important link. Flow direction decides the location to cut the materials, and the beveled cutting direction should be consistent with the direction of base or equipment
Liner bonding pattern about the equipment corner is also determined by fluid flow direction
The purpose of the design is to avoid fluid eroding joint seam. This bonding pattern can make the service life of equipment liners longer; before rubber lining, make sure the welding place have a smooth transition, non-porous & depression, and polish smoothly.
Joint types are divided into overlapping, miter and cover. The overlapping joints are generally used in container liner with acid-base; miter joints are generally used for common wear resistant lining; cover joints are generally used in wear-resistant occasions with strict requirements.
